About Me
I grew up in and around Somerset and Devon in the UK, and so have always been surrounded by the inspiration of the countryside and beautiful old buildings that it contains. I have studied for degrees in Geology, Astrophysics, and Space Engineering, and I also have a post-graduate diploma in Musical Theatre. I spent ten years as a professional singer in London and on cruise ships worldwide.
I now work as a Project Manager in the space industry near London.
Around ten years ago, whilst living in London, the recession was causing singing work to be sparse. So I came up with ideas to supplement my income. I decided to try my hand at painting some of the fantastic theatre facias in London's West End, which have always been so inspirational to me in my daily life. I had previously taken an 'Art and Design' A-level and received promising comments about the paintings I produced. I decided to create prints of my theatre paintings for sale and have since sold many at various outlets around the UK, including a lot of original commissions, for which I receive orders regularly.
I still enjoy painting theatres and continually expand my collection. I am also branching out and experimenting with other media and other architectural forms. The shapes created by structures have always fascinated me and during my travels on cruise ships, I have seen many different styles of design from across the world.
Aside from painting, I have also been making soy-wax candles for around 11 years, which are best suited to a container format. I collect vintage and retro tea-cups and pots and produce my own scented and unscented candles, which can be bought from me in Surrey, either by contacting me or attending one of my fairs advertised on the Events page.
I also produce (at appropriate festive times of the year) knitwear and other miscellaneous crafts including kits to make things yourself!
I take commissions for candles, paintings, and almost anything else, for parties, gifts, weddings and other events.
